A research agent needs market data. It has a budget and payment capability, but still must find a callable service, learn its price and determine whether it suits the task.

Circle Agent Marketplace primarily addresses discovery: it provides a directory of services for people and agents. Circle lists Marketplace, Agent Wallets and its CLI as different Agent Stack components. Discovery and payment connect, but are different actions. Circle announcement

Based on public pages reviewed October 30, 2026. The purchase below is hypothetical; we did not register, buy a service or test payment. Verify current services, prices and supported networks.

Follow a data purchase

This is conceptual. Listed services may be direct or third-party; verify each service’s protocol, asset, network, inputs and outputs. Delivery order also depends on implementation.

What can a directory show?

Circle’s service directory shows categories, providers, descriptions and endpoint counts and distinguishes direct and third-party offerings. Listings and counts change; endpoint count describes catalog structure, not quality or usage.

Reader question Check first Why a name is insufficient
Is the data suitable? Inputs, coverage and output format Similar names can mean different data
Who provides it? Direct or third party Commercial relationship and support may differ
What does it cost? Unit price, billing unit and extras Listed price may differ from full task cost
Can I pay? Wallet, asset, network and protocol USDC acceptance does not mean any network is supported
What if it fails? Delivery, retries, refunds and contact Payment success does not guarantee a useful result

A directory helps identify candidates; it does not replace user or agent judgment about quality, privacy and fitness. Check source, freshness, license and whether sensitive information is required.

Marketplace, wallet and payment

Component Role in the example
Marketplace Discover and understand potential services
Service provider Define API, price and terms and deliver results
Wallet Provide funds management or signing
Payment scheme and network Process payment information and transfers under the integration
User or control system Decide agent budget, purpose and approvals

Circle lists wallets, the directory and other infrastructure separately in Agent Stack. A listing does not automatically establish that a chosen wallet and network can pay for that service.

Questions for service providers

Evaluate listing procedures, API requirements and terms. Confirm customers can see accurate prices, input/output details and failure handling. Third-party offerings can use different intermediaries or distribution paths; provider and billing relationships depend on the actual product.

Someone still owns reliability, delivery, customer support and potential refunds. Discovery answers “what can be found” without automatically assuming those obligations.

Buyers should consider total cost

At $0.01 per request, 100 calls total $1 in listed service charges, excluding possible network, conversion or other costs. Limit call count and verify that returned data meets the task rather than looking only at the low unit price.
